Kannappa, Vishnu Manchu’s passion project, carries a strong emotional spine rooted in devotion and transformation. But despite its sincere intent, the film doesn’t completely land due to its inconsistent pace and underwhelming technical execution

Plot & Spiritual Theme
The story—of a tribal warrior who turns into an unwavering devotee of Lord Shiva—is touching, especially in the final act, which delivers genuine emotional weight and spiritual depth.
Performance
Vishnu Manchu delivers one of his most committed performances, especially in the climax. Akshay Kumar is a standout—his portrayal of Lord Shiva exudes calm power, divinity, and silent intensity. Kajal Aggarwal as Maa Parvati is graceful, emotionally resonant, and a vital presence throughout. Mohan Babu lends gravitas in a pivotal supporting role.
However, Prabhas’ cameo as Rudra fails to create the impact expected from such a powerful figure. His brief appearance lacks energy and depth—it feels more like a promotional checkbox than a meaningful contribution.
The film suffers from a slow and stretched first half, and the background score fails to elevate key moments, often feeling disconnected from the narrative’s intensity.
Verdict
Kannappa is a film with heart, powered by Vishnu Manchu’s passion and standout performances by Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal. But its length, uneven pace, flat BGM, and a dull star cameo prevent it from becoming the mythological epic it aims to be.
